It is September 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. Six months have passed since the notorious Chicago gangster, Harold “Hal” Coppone, was jailed in Philadelphia for the relatively minor offence of carrying an unlicensed gun. His release is expected to trigger a wave of violence around Chicago.
Instead, Coppone has disappeared, mystifying the police and criminal underworld alike. To the small group gathered in a Speakeasy near Coppone’s headquarters, the crime lord’s whereabouts become only part of the mystery when murder and a robbery are discovered.
